I’ve been negligent with respect to my Substack. I have not written much in recent months. I could multiply excuses, but I won’t bore you with any of that. It turns out that I’m a much better reader than a writer, and when I do write, I tend to not produce much of original value. I seem to do well at synthesizing and passing along interesting matters, though.
I did make a resolve, though, to be a better and more active writer in this The Year of Our Lord 2024. I’ve now publicly revealed myself. We’ll see how I did at the end of December. I suspect by then we might all have deeper and far more graver things to ruminate over. (Please don’t get the idea that I’m a pessimist. I do have hope in the ultimate victory of the Good. However, I don’t view the world through a Pollyanna lens, either. We must face facts always.)
Consider this essay entry as a tab-clearing exercise and a way to introduce myself to some of the folks that have — for some strange reason — subscribed to my Substack. Like the hoary Republic, I’ll see if I can keep you.
So, as one crazed maniac once stated: “In, through, and beyond!”
The Winter of Our Discontent
Over the past several months to a year, we’ve seen a series of populist, legal protests erupt against the various Establishment authorities: the Canadian truckers; the Irish; Dutch farmers; Polish protesting against the powerplays of the new politicians in Poland; German farmers protesting bad policy. The Danes are rising up and now we’re seeing this: Romanian farmers have now had enough with green extremism and terrible policy impositions.
These protests are not the violent, bloody, and “most peaceful” fiery protests of the Summer of Floyd 2020. The overwhelming majority of these protests are respectful and staying within the bounds of peaceful and appropriate protests. No doubt, there are may be blips here and there; an individual or a small group might transgress or get caught up in the moment; but in the aggregate, these protests are being done right. Will the establishment listen? Hard to say. I’m not sure the Canada trucker protest really won any valuable concessions. The Canadian government seemed to have doubled down on their arrogance. But these protests, particularly in the Eurozone, show that there is deep and wide discontent among the masses. Extreme Green policies coupled with open borders have made people fed up. I can only hope that real change can take place. Already we’ve seen several moderate-right or right parties win big in recent elections. While that will not be the case in the upcoming UK election due to Tory corruption and ineptitude, generally speaking, it seems that people in Europe want more freedom. That’s something to be grateful for. But I don’t see Brussels or the establishment bending over. Things are going to get worse before they get better. It truly is the winter of our discontent.
Austin Goes AWOL!
Truly one of the more bizarre stories out there: in a time of worldwide crisis, with multiple wars and conflicts raging, the United States Secretary of Defense essentially does AWOL and only a few people knew about. Of significant note, those few people DID NOT INCLUDE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Unbelievable. Even some Democrats have called for his resignation. But then again, this guy presided over the botched and shameful Afghanistan withdrawal. If you didn’t resign in shame over that, why should this matter?
As Strategic Culture Foundation opined:
Given this ferment of conflict, it seems incredible that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was effectively missing in action for several weeks without his nominal superior, Joe Biden, knowing of his whereabouts. Biden’s other title is Commander-in-Chief. In the supposed civilian command structure of the United States military, Austin is second to Biden. Among their supposed responsibilities is the command of U.S. nuclear forces.
We are absolutely a clown country.
Breastfeeding Condemned as ‘Ethically Problematic’
The American Academy of Pediatrics seems to have been captured by bizarre, corrupt, and woke elements, thus fulfilling Conquest’s Third Law1. They are saying that natural breastfeeding is “ethically problematic,” ostensibly because it causes trans ideology to run right into the buzzsaw of biological truths.
Get a load of this bovine fecal matter:
“Medical and public health organizations recommend that mothers exclusively breastfeed for at least 6 months. This recommendation is based on evidence of health benefits for mothers and babies, as well as developmental benefits for babies. A spate of recent work challenges the extent of these benefits, and ethical criticism of breastfeeding promotion as stigmatizing is also growing. Building on this critical work, we are concerned about breastfeeding promotion that praises breastfeeding as the “natural” way to feed infants. This messaging plays into a powerful perspective that ‘natural’ approaches to health are better, a view examined in a recent report by the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. Promoting breastfeeding as ‘natural’ may be ethically problematic, and, even more troublingly, it may bolster this belief that ‘natural’ approaches are presumptively healthier. This may ultimately challenge public health’s aims in other contexts, particularly childhood vaccination.”
They obviously hate babies and mothers. And by extension: all of us. You can’t despise these people enough.
Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández is a Kinkster
With full apologies for any of my Catholic readers, I want you to know that I truly intend no disrespect to your religion or the Catholic Church. I don’t relish having to pass on these kinds of things. But, it seems pretty clear that Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, who is basically in charge of Catholic doctrine and also has the final say on matters of clergy sexual abuse, is himself into some weird sexual kinks.
Unfortunately, it seems that Pope Francis knew that the Cardinal wrote a book titled Mystical Passion: Spirituality and Sensuality. It’s essentially pornography. Probably not the best look for a Church that has spent the past two and a half decades playing defense on clerical sex abuses.

When DEI becomes DIE
I don’t know about you, Dear Reader, but I’m not planning on flying anywhere anytime soon. The New York Post has the details here:
The Federal Aviation Administration is actively recruiting workers who suffer “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website.
“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring,” the FAA’s website states. “They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”
The initiative is part of the FAA’s “Diversity and Inclusion” hiring plan, which claims “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.”
No Peace in Our Time
The German Ministry of Defense is prepping the Bundeswehr for a conflagration that could lead to World War III. “The secret strategy document wargames a hybrid Russian attack on NATO’s eastern flank as soon as next month and then lays out the steps on how the conflict would escalate month by month.”
Also, Sweden basically told its citizens to prepare for war with Russia.
Noice.
So It’s Treason Then?
Finally, the D.C. Establishment and Deep State have just come out and said that if Trump wins again, they are going to commit treason to stop him:

Are they even going to let Trump live? At this point, it’s a seriously valid question.
Well, folks. That’s it for today. I do plan on writing some legal stuff that deals with all the Trump prosecutions, but that takes time to put together. And I may drop other things unrelated to that between now and then.
Despite the serious issues I’ve shared, I know personally that we can have peace in our lives. So no matter where you are, or what you are dealing with, I hope that you can find that peace in your heart. Yes, we live in challenging times. But we can lean on each other. I certainly hope we do so in the coming months and years ahead.
And be on the lookout for more of my Substack activity.
